Sizing the balance rail holes in the keys helped some in the one I just did,
but it was still overall a lot noisier than I liked. It was just a quickie
regulation though, not a genetic reengineering. A 2"+ back rail cloth certainly
shouldn't be necessary. Temporarily lay a strip of thin key bushing cloth along
the back edge of the back rail cloth and see if that quiets it down. If not,
that ain't it. If so, change the back rail cloth out for something narrower
that you know to be reasonably quiet.
