Hi Ron, You are absolutely correct. I was confused when I posted that tip and it is supposed to be a brass shank repair sleeve and not a tuning pin sleeve. I have enjoyed the responses and stand corrected. Another technique I use when the damage is not quite so bad is drill out the hole to accept a 6/32 grass insert and replace the screw with a brass 6/32 flat head machine screw. A dealer taught me this trick and he claimed that he had never seen a rack repaired like this to break again.
