Pianos in Vegas... Well now, I can tell you about them! (Sorry for the
lateness of this reply). The piano population here is growing right along with
the people population. Currently Las Vegas is the fastest growing city in the
United States. The dealers are healthy and business is generally good. Many
people who move here do not bring pianos with them, rather they sell their
pianos before moving and then purchase a new piano after relocating here. As a
result the population of old clunker uprights is relatively low. Players are
very popular here. Myself and Alan Meyer install PianoDiscs for the largest
dealer in town and we are steadily busy. Christmas can be nuts.

Hotels generally have contracts with technicians. The exceptions are some of
the bars and restaurants which sometimes have separate management and therefore
make their own agreements with the techs. Most hotels have a small battery of
pianos in storage that are moved around regularly for various events. Big name
concerts however may have rental grands from dealers or a piano may travel with
the pianist. Since most hotels require frequent piano moving this is typically
worked in with the hotel contract. It can be a lot of work but one tech can
handle the gigs with proper experience and equipment. Alan has had contracts
with numerous large resorts for many years.

The "piano density" of Las Vegas is significant, alive, and well. Future
prospects look very promising. I hope this was the kind of response you were
looking for.
