Tom,
I think it might be around half the cost of an Accutuner....the Compaq iPaqs
are around $500-$600 depending on where you buy it and the software is a few
hundred, but there's a discount if you already have RCT. And of course it
is less expensive than having to buy a laptop and then the software.

Mighty tempting.....

  Jeannie and List,
I still have heard the price for one of these PDA's. With RCT installed I
imagine it's up to the cost of an Accutuner.

    Tom,
I can see only one reason to switch from the Palm platform, which up
until now has been miles ahead of the pack, and that is because Dean Reyburn
and Robert Scott are adapting their tuning programs for the iPaq and that
make them very tempting indeed. It would be a headache for me to switch
over after 5+ years of everything in my life on my Palm, but it is very
tempting.....

      Ok, you have my interest....\
Presently I use a Palm IIIe and enjoy the benefits it offers. How
much of a increase in memory does the Compaq have, plus endless
possibilities, which would be enough to justify stepping up?
Do you really print invoices on the spot? Presently I can't imagine
packing anymore stuff than I already have.

Can these things print through an infrared port?

I've just started to use TuneLab's Pocket PC trial version on my
new Compaq iPac and really enjoy it. The program works very well and I
specially like the frequency spectrum display. This feature alone is worth
the program especially for the last treble octave. The other thing I like
about this setup is that there is no more waiting time for the machine to
wake up or startup. These machines, you turn them on and it's on in a flash.
And the size and weight are just pleasant to work with. I was using RCT
before on a very small Toshiba but I sometimes had to stop on the side of
the road to get the pc out of the case to wait for it to wake up just to get
the adress I had to get to. Well now I just take the small thing out of my
pocket and instantly, I have the info. For those who were thinking of
getting a VTD, I think this is the way of the present now. Check it out.
