I believe Murray Seminuk has already stated that, not in as great detail =

I know he could, but simply enough as to make the point relevant to the
current discussion. He is one of the few who, imho, could go into great
depth on the issues of violin making, history, repair etc....and its =
similarities
to piano soundboards, technology and the likes. Thank God he didn't as=20
that would read like a book. Big grin ;~}

Most of the Strads in use have new necks spliced in as
well as new bass bars. In addition the new neck is at
a different angle than the original increasing the
downbearing dramatically, and the finger board is much
