It was a loud noise > Generally, capstans do not require lubrication but the surface should be slick. The fact that there is a squeak indicates there may be a scrubbing movement happening which means incorrect alignment. How does the action feel? Does it feel unusually heavy or seem to have some unusual feeling resistance in it? If there is a scrubbing problem, lubrication only treated the symptom, not the cause. When the lubrication depletes itself, the squeak would likely return. If the piano is still under warranty, this would be a warranty claim.
