I would like to apologize for the rude comment I made about the extent of
the physics knowledge of the list. The seemingly loose usage of terms like
compression wave and transverse standing wave and then to invoke the name of
Newton....whatever my mumblings of reasons, I was still wrong and apologize.

A French management saying......"that's all fine in practice but it'll never
work in theory"
