Question about tuning pins and strings

Kimball consoles in the mid seventies, sometime in there, had problems =
with tuning pin spacing at the break many most of the treble strings in =
that area were rubbing together above the pressure bar. Judicious lubing =
helped a lot. But all of them were tunable. All H___broke loose if you =
tore a string. Talk about your bleeding fingers!
