We had a new Baldwin upright (I should say less than 2 years old) at a
customer's house with the same complaint. One tech looked at it and saw
a rib separated from the soundboard, and upon closer examination, I found
that the bridge was separating from the soundboard. Our Detroit people
took the piano to re-glue the bridge, and upon removing the strings, the
whole high treble bridge fell off! and they found that about half of the
lower treble bridge was loose and needed re-glued too. Take off the knee
board and look carfully and the bridge! Clark Sprague
