Hello, to all, I just wanted to echo the previous e-mails in regard to EBVT! First, I appreciate Bill B. for sharing his tuning process for this temperament. I still consider myself as a rookie, so my observations are limited compared to some on this list. However, I must say that I enjoyed tuning my home piano with this scheme. I spent a very pleasant Saturday afternoon reviewing the sequence and instructions. My most significant source of reliable feedback, my wife the pianist, played for me for awhile. She very much enjoyed the sound. As a player, she had trouble describing the sound, but her main comments involved how full the piano sounded, how "bright" some of her songs were, and just how pleasant it was to play on this instrument with this tuning. If nothing else, I got a new perspective on aural tuning, and have begun internalizing some habits that will not only improve my aural E.T. work, but will help me to explore more HT's. Thanks again, Bill! Sincerely, Tom Dickson (snip).... Everything sounds so much clearer with EBVT, and > >probably will sound clearer with any other HT that has more pure intervals. > The difference is quite perceptible. It did not matter if I tuned ET aurally or > >with the SAT--they sounded the same. ET has a lot of "stuff" in its chords > >that EBVT does not. I suppose you could call it "fuzzy." etc. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
