Newton,
How about fashioning a small piece of wood to hold two damper barrels.
They could be staggered so the width would be minimized, it would also
be lighter than metal.

Taking it a step further, have two barrels welded together in such a fashion
that the wires are as close together as possible. Can't get much lighter.

What is the purpose for this? Why can't the wire be adjusted at the top flange?
Busted or sumpthin' ?
