Do a search for "national convention"and "annual convention" in the Journal CDs. The event has been referred to both ways in the Journal and by the membership, for as long as I have been a member. In conversation, "national" differentiates from "regional" quite clearly and efficiently, and all concerned know exactly what's being discussed regardless of the lack of precision to three decimal places or the current political correctness of the term. No information is lost in the translation. Those who wish to can certainly intone "PTG Annual Convention and Technical Institute" as often and as distinctly as they like, but I'd rather get past the superficial nonsense and on to the content. Seems to me that what's being said ought to be at least as important as how it is said if I'm going to expend the time and energy to listen. Maybe it's just me. Ron N
