<<<<As an aural tuner I always miss out on the "my machine is better
than yours"! :(
darn.
Mind you, when the kids are screaming and running around the house, and
I'm tuning a 50 year old drop action, and it's my last piano of the day,
I really really really really wish I had one of those electronic
thingamabobbies. ;)

This one IS worth investigating. I've been tuning aurally in ET for
over 21 years and, though I hate to admit it, it's better than me at
tempering intervals. I now effortlessly and consistently get VERY
SMOOTH beat speed progression. When I tune aurally, I WORK AND WORK AND
WORK until I achieve the best compromises I can (something I'm sure
you're familiar with). With the VT'er, I just follow the spinning
wheelie thing and PRESTO!!!! it's exactly there when I use my aural
checks to verify. NO RETUNING AND RETUNING TO FINE TEMPER!!!! And let
the leaf blowers, lawn mowers, rap music or whatever happen. I'm no
longer stressed or tired at the end of the day. I have so much excess
energy that I'm starting to "power walk" with the intention of building
up to jogging 7 miles a day like I did back in my twenties. (Well...
maybe walk and jog the 7 miles now.) And colors are brighter now. And
people are nicer. And, oohh, the world is just such a happy place.
