Isn't any "debate" academic if the "listener" does not like or, accept, what 
is heard? If the "listener" does not accept or demand a particular sound all 
the 'academic' debate among the "performers, music historians, musicologists 
and critics", and even 'tuners', is just that......... 'academic'...... isn't 
it?? :-)

 Perhaps through efforts such as Ed's, now two!, CDs (congrats boy!) 
"listeners" will come more and more to accept or demand a return to the 
future past!...or maybe not.......................
