Et Al; I have a M&H model AA in the shop for rebuild.......the serial No. seems to be messing with my mind. This is an "ebonized" case.......all of the case parts, legs and lyre have the number 39255 stamped into the wood......even the keyframe has this number stamped into the front of the frame. However the number on the plate is 39119. This piano has not been restrung and the plate has not been refinished so this is the number that was assigned at M&H....I guess? Question: Should I assume that this case, w/associated parts, was switched at the factory for some unknown reason and the serial number on the plate is correct? or that the number on all the parts is correct? The only real difference that I can forsee it making would be during an insurance claim with the conflicting numbers, etc....... Your thoughts??? JIm Bryant (FL)
