"Rebuilt" vs. "Reconditioned"

This was indeed addressed a few years ago by a committee titled 
(something like) the Rebuiding Standards Committee. The upshot was a 
few coherent definitions, copies of which I am unable to dredge up at 
the moment.
Generally speaking I would use the term "remanufacture" if I'm 
describing an instrument which has has everything including the 
soundboard replaced. Who has the appropriate text at hand to pass on?
