At least as important as a good chisel is being able to put a good edge on
it and
maintain that edge. I never did get the hang of hand sharpening so it was
done right. I bought a Tormex grinder and now I can put an edge on a chisel
that you can shave with in just a few minutes and I can restrop it in about
30 seconds. I find I can restrop several times for 1 sharpening. I never
realized before how much quicker and better I could work with a really sharp
chisel.
