Well, at least I understand your reasons for deciding to support Newton's comment. However, I can't agree that closing the gap is necessarily a desirable act in all situations, especially in this particular one, that being, Terry Farrell's description of visible plate bending as well as pinblock separation, and his concern for potential plate breakage.
