It comes from the dust collector we have hooked up to our stroke sander.
This is the sander we use to sand the spruce soundboards at various stages
of their manufacture.  It is about 99.9% pure spruce with an occasional
piece of maple being sanded for whatever reason.

No, it is not self-rising, more like self-settling.  Whatever the dust
collector does not get pretty much settles anywhere it wants....
