Richard, thanks for making this available. Interesting read and it points out 
the problems involved in being a parts replacer rather than a Technician :-)
 Two points of interest are his recommending that the customer be involved in 
parts selection..............I'm not sure how that would work for me and with 
'most' of my customers......... and his reference to Renner  as supplying 
"after market"
parts of quality and correct dimensions.......there are at least two other 
companies that supply excellent, correctly dimensioned, parts for and to  
S&S, so I wonder why he left them out, though he did say "most notable" vis a 
vis Renner.
 Overall though, well written and thanks again for sharing it.
