Whereabouts of SteveMcClintock

Chris,
I wish I had the same success you did. Ed transferred my data from PSM to
PTBiz and all my old invoice history is filled with zero's. The customer fields
have some bungled up info as well. I'm trying to enter all the data by hand but
that takes forever if you've been in business long enough to have a substantial
client base. I wish I could get into the program in a pure data base format so
that I can do some bulk editing. That would speed things up a whole lot. As it is
I have to go through each customer one screen at a time.
I'm also worried that Ed will not be making any updates. It seems as though he
hasn't sold very many copies and he might be losing interest. I don't know for
sure. I wish I had the time to figure out how to use the office suites to do this
stuff. I'm afraid it would simply take too much time to build.
I've looked at all the other programs for piano tech's out there and all have
some serious shortcomings. Most of them don't have integrated finical stuff like
invoices and payment dating and the like. I really don't wish to bounce from one
program to another to accomplish tasks that should be grouped together. So far
PTBiz is the closest thing to what I want. I do all this on the road including
printing invoices from this program right before the customers eyes. Ooooo they
like that! I've sent a couple of pages of a wish list to Ed (creator of PTBiz)
and let just say, I'm not holding my breath.
Anyone out there in cyberland have any ideas? It seems to me that our
businesses aren't that unique. I'm thinking that the automotive business is
similar. Owners info, car's info, service history, invoice and payment tracking,
multiple cars for clients. Surely there are other examples. Anyone know of
possible compatible industry programs suitable for our use? Perhaps they'd even
be cheaper because they have more possible customers for their software. I'm all
ears!
