Yes.   PSO is Piano Shaped Object.  The confusion stems from the fact that,
in some cases, both acronyms seem to apply to the same object. 

Other acronyms I occcasionally use are:

BOA - {Before Or After} - PSO which is difficult to tell whether it is
before or after you have tuned it. 
	To qualify as POS,  it must be _impossible_ to tell.

PDR - {Point of Diminishing Returns} - Point beyond which further
ministrations will gain no improvement.  A PSO may reach PDR after
tightening the bench.  The PDR for a POS is reached before it is in sight.

POS category is excellent trebuchet ammunition.
