Hi ROn,

Pliers are the wrong tool.  I would use a miniature straight damper
wire bender type tool, easy to make with a hack saw and a 3/16"
diameter piece of metal.  Of course flange bushing felt and center
pins work best, they do have have for centuries (why do they have
to screw with success?) but I would want an easy, quick, painless
and timeless solution.
