Pianolac vs Enduro related q

One question from your note recommending clear grain filler on non-ebony
finishes:
When I tried it (different brand water based grain filler), it left a whitish
type of junk in the grain, even though it  *said* it would dry clear.  Have some
of you tried this clear grain filler on your Enduro or Pianolac refinishing?
and with what result?  Do they also supply a dark brown grain filler?
