SAT II users

Terry -   I have an early SAT which has been upgraded with the FAC and more
memory.    I've had problems with the foot switch when the wires inside the
unit needed  to be resoldered.   I also had problems when the wire that goes
into the foot switch broke inside the insulation.   Probably due to being
flexed too many times.   I also had a problem with the plug receiver inside
the SAT, which I discovered after I had ordered a new foot switch which
didn't solve my problem .   Again a solder joint had released.   I cut the
rubber "plugs" holding the cover on the SAT, and resoldered the joint
myself.  I used a small electric soldering iron and heat sinks to isolate
the heat on the joint I was repairing.    That's been at least two years ago
and it is still holding fine.  I used a seam of silicon glue along the edge
of the cover to hold in place.   The symptoms I had experienced were the
unit shutting off, or not responding to the click of the foot switch.   I
could jiggle the wire or plug and it might work O.K. again for 10 minutes,
or the rest of the piano, depending on how I might have moved the SAT
around.

Just out of curiousity, how many SAT (II) users are members of this list?
Have you ever had trouble with either the "foot" or "thumb" switch? Also,
the manual mentions a "LOWBAT" indication will be seen in the left window,
when the battery is low, but that's not what I get; Instead, I get little
black "dots" on either side of the note and/or octave indicators (left
window).
