Don, An alternitive would be the emery cloth sold at automotive stores. It is used to removeor clean items that you can shoe shine or rub like shafts. It is available in three grit sizes 80 120 220 or such as I recall. You can get 100 foot rolls that will last for years. I use the one inch tape in shoe shine filing of hammers. Very flexable and lasts and lasts. You can easily tear the strip into any width if it is too wide to do individual hammers that are angled.
