Another stab
Since when the action is pulled out the noise goes away, source has to be
in the damper underlever area.  Something interfering with the back of
the key.

" -Lift the damper way up and the clicking has not disappeared."

Is the noise generated on the up-stroke or down-stroke?

Is the noise there if the sustain pedal is used? (I had one of these two
days ago, it was the damper screw hitting the sostinuto rod.)
