Pat, the only way I know of now would be to take them to a video editing service and have them converted first to digital. I don't know whether these shops now have DVD burners or not. If not, you could probably take their digital output and feed it into a PC (perhaps through an IEEE 1394 Firewire card), then write it onto a DVD using a DVD-RAM or DVD-RW drive. Only problem is that the current generations of these have compatibility issues with existing DVD players. These problems should be ironed out during the coming year. Probably in a couple years this will be commonplace technology, at least for PCs if not for boxes you use with your TV. I would just be leery of investing in a new VCR at this point -- especially an expensive one -- since it's pretty certain this technology is becoming obsolete. -- Chris ----- Original Message ----- From: Pat Neely <pneely@thegrid.net> To: <pianotech@ptg.org> Sent: Thursday, February 03, 2000 3:52 PM Subject: Re: VCR's (not very pianoistic!) > Chris can a person copy their old videos to DVD yet?
