That would be my conclusion. For too long I have tried to convince my
church customers that the temperature isn't the issue, it's the lack of
humidity control during the heating season. After 25 years, I might have
convinced one or two... for now... until someone else suggests it's a
temperature problem, or they become convinced it's evil spirits, Rush
Limbah, or somethingorother. BTW, I highly recommend that you, and everyone
else who reads this, find and obtain a copy of the book I mentioned. It has
all the information you would ever want about wood, and more. Even if an
authoritative source doesn't count in a group discussion, I find it
comforting. Call it a personality flaw.
