I've noticed that most old uprights abound with cracks and crevices which surely promote air circulation through the case. Player pianos offer even more opportunity for air infiltration. Merely adding a stick heater probably increases the air flow due to the creation of a draft (the chimney effect). Is it possible, that sealing those cracks, and even placing felt at contact points between removeable parts, if done sensibly, could allow better humidity control, especially during times of wild swings in room RH? What are your thoughts on this? Tom Robinson East Tennessee (Enjoying this forum immensely.....)
