I wish I'd never seen any of this stuff, but after seeing what I have it's
no mystery why rebuilding has always been considered a poor second cousin of
a new piano in the Chicago area. Do the rest of you see this too? We still
have rebuilders who claim that you can't replace a pinblock because it will
"turn it into a whole different piano."
