I measured a Yamaha C-3B, in a home of an electronics whiz with a spectrum analyzing multiband dB meter of 110 dB at ear level, leaning over slightly, in the top octave. That is excessively loud and repetitive impacts will cause permanent damage. Why do you think us old men like super sharp trebles? Because we cannot hear them otherwise. -- Newton Hunt Highland Park, NJ mailto:nhunt@jagat.com
