OK, at this point I have to agree. Sure, the real benefit of the list is the technical information flowing back and forth; that's why we're here. But, we are all real flesh and blood people here, with a common profession and shared lifestyles. Generally we spend our days working with various customers who know very little about what we do. Often, when we have an "Aha!" moment, it due to some small point of minutia which we wouldn't even bother trying to explain to our clients. In short, we spend most of the time working alone. That being said, I'd have to say that I really look forward to the fellowship that I find on the list. Sure, all the technical stuff is wonderful, but I'm sorry to have to point this out; people are going to be people. They're going to open up to each other and share their thoughts. I've gone through hundreds of postings, scanning some and thoroughly reading others. I'm as guilty of being off topic as most. Somehow, I don't feel that I'm "ruining" the list. But keep trying, maybe you can shame me into your way of running the list. As far as a moderator goes, when you do that, then the list is REALLY going to cease to exist, because whoever you get will have a personality, and that will effect who they decide to "moderate" and then the other personalities will take up sides, and people will get mad and drop off. OK,, now, make sure your pilot light on the end of the flame-thrower is still lit........ ----- Original Message ----- From: "pianolover 88" <pianolover88@hotmail.com> To: <pianotech@ptg.org> Sent: Sunday, December 17, 2000 9:09 PM Subject: Re: Killing the List > John, > > Gee, John, I really disagree with your assesment, but respect your opinion. > Being a newbie tech, I have found nothing but helpful interaction and a > wealth of friendly advisors!
