Diane; I will happily supply all the info I have on leather covered hammers. 1. They were used on old pianos. 2. I have seen many examples of such hammers. 3. I don't have the foggiest notion of what kind of leather works best. 4. If I had a desire to find out this info I think I would bug Stephen Birkett or perhaps Anne Beetem.
