Tilting Pianos

I purchased a portable/folding piano tipper from Schaff over 25 years ago.
The thing looks flimsy and loves to pinch fingers, but I've tipped many
uprights with great success. I found it best to pull back on the tipper and
lift the piano off its back casters. Then carefully pull the piano back
against the slanted tipper and proceed to roll it backward. This technique
keeps the piano from scooting forward off the tipper, especially if you're
working on a hard floor.
