Also it will have a 'tendency' to tear more than would a uniformly more closely grained veneer, say maple, birch, holly or some such. If however you are really wanting to use the mahogany then you might try a spurred bit to start the holes through the veneer and finish with your favorite drill bit. When doing this I have always used a plastic resin glue or epoxy thinned and clamped 'rrrrrealy' well. My thoughts. Jim Bryant (FL)
