Any veneer will do, the important thing is pin placement.
Make sure the wires don't interfere with each other or
touch a pin in the path to the agraffe. Don't rely on a
pattern from the old holes but they could be used as a template.
The last one I drilled, I made a paper pattern, took the time
for a layout. It paid off.
