Dave,

I assume you are not a piano technician or you wouldn't need to ask the
question.  My general experience has been that when a piano is offered for
nothing, that's about what it's worth.  You can take a chance if you want, but
it's better to pay a piano technician to evaluate it before you go to the trouble
and expense of moving it home.  I have seen pianos with beautiful cases where the
guts were totally shot.
