> > Regardless, a micrometer is a handy tool. > There are some.............. whose approaching senility has so limited their vision that the "basic micrometer" is getting very difficult to read- sad, sad truth it is. I finally broke down and bought a snap guage, and just love it. Teaching a local PACE class with another tech's tools, I got to fiddle with a digital micrometer. Also marvelous. Like a carpenter or mechanic who needs to be wise enough to spend the big bucks on certain of his tools, and can skimp on others, I'd think the micrometer would be on of those on which one would wisely invest more now, and then be able to appreciate than investment many years later. My first micrometer was a cheap one. I still use it a bit, but wish I'd been a bit more inclined to take my own advise several years ago. les bartlett houston ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET!
