Trouble setting string

I have found that some pianos that don't render well have a large amount
of understring felt between the pins and the bearing bars.  I put protek
along the string over the felted area using an oiler (not too much!).  I
have heard of using a spray to do this, but wouldn't do this myself.
This treatment seems to work well on those pianos.
