Tuning Pin Prefs (was tight pins)

Hi Del and Newton,

My personal preference is for Yamaha tuning pins for the same reasons you've
already outlined...diameter consistency etc. They do cost a bit more, and I
prefer the slightly duller plating finish that they have compared to the
Nippon Denros. That high shine is just a bit too much for me. (I usually
replace blued with blue and nickel with nickel)

I have also been put onto a line of German pins that are apparently very
good (from Renner Germany). When I get them and have a chance to use them,
I'll let you all know.
BTW it's nice to be back on line after my 3 month sojourn (despite the 115
messages yesterday!!!) especially now that I faces for some of your
signatures....it was really nice meeting some of you at KC. I can't be there
next year, but maybe 2001 (when it's safe to fly again ;-) )

Cheers
