I'm not sure what to think about measuring tuning pins. When I mic'ed sets
of pins from Apsco or Schaff, I always seemed to get three relatively even
piles, small, medium, and large, which I would use for treble, mid, and
bass, respectively. I like that. Last set, I used the Diamond brand from
Pianotech, and they were all the same.
