A quick Dampp-Chaser/Yamaha question

G'day Clyde,

I recently installed a D/C system into a Kawai RX7 (only marginally bigger)
and I used a G8PS, the system with two tanks. They were the standard size
tanks but being that long I felt a single tank wouldn't give enough coverage
for a soundboard that big. The system fitted no sweat! I suspect that a
single tank system would be no problem, but a double tank system might need
more space.

In your situation, given that the piano is a bit smaller (and sorry I am
unfamiliar with its backpost setup) I would use a G8PS-ST (2 Short tanks
interconnected) this would be guaranteed to fit, it wouldn't require filling
every few days and it would give ample coverage to a piano that size.

This system I fitted was the first of the newer style "big piano" systems I
have installed. It's so much nicer than the previous G7PS with it's two
lights, two fill tubes etc.

I would like to see a system developed with one large tank and one short
tank. In most pianos there's plenty of room at the bottom end of the piano
for a large tank but the problem is usually fitting the other one at the top
end in between the beams..............In fact I might email Bob Mair right
now!

Cheers all
Mark Bolsius

Friends:

I need to install a complete Dampp-Chaser system in a new Yamaha C6
piano. For those who are familiar with this piano, can I use a standard
GHM tank or do I need a short tank? Thanks in advance.
