I have never before sounded off on this subject, but I'll make these
suggestions once:

For every inflammatory post there is an endless stream of responses from "how
dare he!" to "let's kick him out" to "something needs to be done about this"
to the ever melodramatic "I can't take it anymore, I'm leaving the list!".

It's all the never ending, hand wringing responses that are driving me crazy,
and probably others off the list. Why does any irritating, or off the wall
post need any kind of response anyway? If you feel personally insulted, (1)
send the offender a private e-mail. Otherwise, (2) if you notice a pattern of
behavior that you don't want to be a part of, then just delete the posts from
this person from then on. Besides, people that post flames are just looking
for attention anyway, and thrive on the ensuing hysteria.

I believe if everyone just did one or the other, there would be no problem.
