Hi, RE: Ampico Valves: Zephyr skin is notorious for shrinking and holding valves from their seats. Any topical treatment such as neatsfoot oil or mink oil will make them stiffer. Besides, those oil-based compounds will vaporize under vacuum and deposit oil everywhere from the valve blocks to the pump! Bottom line....re-pouch using thin, sealed pouch leather that has been tested for pin prick holes by holding it against a bright light.
