Hi Newton:

Another possible use of the common gummed tape is that in the case of
completely missing dowels, one can moisten and roll up the tape to any
dimension diameter such as might be needed in this case. This is very
bit as effective as using string for bridle tapes, or tooth picks for
tuning pin shims.
