Paul: Since I haven't seen your name on these lists before, I will presume you are new to this forum. There has been much,much conversation regarding the use of CA (superglue) in just the circumstance you describe. It has had amazing results in tightening tuning pins to the point of making them tuneable and loaded with holding power. Perhaps you can get into the archives (I can't direct you-don't know all the details) and peruse some of the many contributions to this subject. Be aware that there is some disagreement among us as to its use-but I think I can state that more good experiences have been related than the few bad ones I seem to recall. My personal experiences with CA on lower-priced pianos that are in need of pin tightening-without the expense of pinblock rebuilding or driving in over-sized pins- has been quite positive.
