Hi Don, Thank's for the correction, it was late and I'm starting to become dyslexic. I used the first Soprano section F5 to F6, bass is left, rct in fine tune mode. The test was done to try to find all the variables to improve reproducibility in the PAZ figures that I have been getting. At this level there is slight changes in pitch dependent on action position, and also weather the string is excited with the hammer, or plucked. The more I explore, the more questions seem to pop up.The only conclusion that I am sure of thus far is that, hammer elasticity and strike point has a big effect on pitch. ( the stretch). I am beginning to wonder if our ears are playing tricks on us, for instance, if we don't hear the second partial, do we subconsciously revert and tune to the fundamental because that is where the sweet spot lies????? Trying to find ways to improve PAZ as a tool, makes me realize how little I know about the whole system. The more one discovers, the more one realizes how little we know. There is a lot of theories but few acid test. Anally obsessive. Roger At 01:39 AM 23/11/98 -0600, you wrote: >Hi Roger, > >Which Octave? What tuning style (OTS? Which way is right?
