When all else fails, Lidsay Publications has  plans for building a Metal
Disintegrator  $10.90.  Have seen it disintegrat a broken easy out,  [who
ever thought up that name?] Works good . Parts cost about $275.00.

Re: repair spring replacement...I find that a small drill in a pin vise
works good on that hardwood rail, then the small screws usually don`t twist
of as sometimes happen even with useing an awl.
