Why not buy a very inexpensive "trouser steamer" and judiciously steam the entire set of hammers from top to bottom? Spend only a 2 or 3 second period on each "hand full" of hammers...moving quicky and methodically from one hand full to the next. Be very quick and precise. You should have a quite "different" animal when finished.
